4 Simple Website Promotion Methods

As my part of this quarters targets, I have set out yet again to try and increase the amount of promotion that I do to increase Profit Duck’s traffic. Even though I will be following normal methods to achieve this, I have decided that I should write them down so I don’t forget about them and so that if they are useful to anyone else, then they can see them.

If you haven’t seen my targets, then please take a look at them first. Below are the five ways I will be trying to increase promotion, to try and achieve the Twitter and Facebook targets.

1 – Add Relevant Facebook Friends

I haven’t got many Facebook friends at the moment and this is because I don’t tend to advertise it, which is in turn to do with the fact that I don’t often log into Facebook to check what is going on, I much prefer Twitter for Profit Duck related stuff. However, Facebook is a great way to get your name out there, so in the next 3 months I will be searching for people who are trying to do the same thing as me, are there to teach me, or just sound like interesting people.

The main thing about this one is to try and get those people to add me as a friend back; this is why I am only going to add people who are relevant to my field. As well as this, I don’t want to be adding people just for the sake of getting my numbers up, I want to add people who I may learn from or may be able to help. The friend count doesn’t mean everything.

2- Add Relevant Twitter Friends

Much like the first promotion method. I have already started doing this, every day I will log into Twitter and add a few people who are in relevant fields. I have found that this has increased the people who are adding more, either reciprocating my add or people who are probably doing much the same kind of promotion. As with the Facebook Friend adding, I am trying to only add people who will be useful to me, not any old person.

3 – Get Active on Forums

I recently found the Blog Boards when reading 4 Awesome Blogging Communities for You this has given me a place where I can join a new community and am one of those people around from the start. This isn’t just for promotion though, I’ve been looking for a good forum for a while now. I used to be involved in a few a couple of years ago, and I have to say I loved them. Those were forums which were quite small and as I was one of the first, I could keep up. That is why I want to get into Blog Boards as quickly as possible as I can be someone who helps it grow.

4 – Tell My Real Friends and Contacts

I haven’t done this yet, I’m still nervous to tell people I actually know that I run a website, I’m not sure why, but I need to start. Not only are your friends bound to support you, which in turn could lead to more hits, but you can get them involved, maybe they will help you build your website and because you actually know them it will be much easier to build a great website.

The four tips above are quite simple, as I mentioned at the start, but we shouldn’t forget how simple promotion can be at times. Yes it takes a lot of time, but it isn’t really that taxing, do what I’m doing… Sit down, stick on some music and then search the web for people like you!
