Get Your Head in the Game

Posted August 11th, 2012 in Round-ups by Simon Duck

I’m going to start the re-launch of Profit Duck post in an annoying way, why? Because quite a lot of the time that is the way to get a message through. So watch the video above and then continue to read!

Profit Duck has been through many changes, all which i will be explaining in a later post. At the end of the day, it all boils down to the fact that life is every changing, moods are ever changing and ideas are the same. We can never focus our mind on just one thing and for that reason we deviate from what we should be achieving. Despite this we try harder next time, getting better, improving and eventually correcting the formula so that it is perfect, so that it explodes and causes a tidal wave of realisations. This is what is happening, I have reached the tidal wave and I am surfing my way into the location mentally where I want to be.

This is only a short post to welcome you all back and most of all welcome myself back, it has been too long. My weekly goals will be the first aspect you see posted on Profit Duck and that will commence tomorrow, after that a post on Tuesday will introduce you to a new series I am implementing onto the website. In the mean time, check out when I will be posting the rest of the time, and what I will be posting.

Maybe take another look at that video? yeah I know it is complete drivel, don’t put yourself through it if you don’t want to.

A Fresh Duck – Happy New Year

Posted December 31st, 2011 in Round-ups by Simon Duck

2012. The year the world is meant to end. Or is it just another fresh start?

Whatever happens this year, everyone around will be striving to improve themselves, and I am making no exception for myself. As you can see from Profit Duck, I have re-designed the website and plan on continuing the improvements over the course of the next couple of months.

As well as this a new focus will be added to the website. I want to make this more involved with my personal journey, so will therefore be adding posts about each of my websites, going through the process of setting them up, promoting them to build up a community and then taking them to the next step, wherever that may be.

With these new posts I will be doing a twice monthly update on how those websites are getting on; in addition I plan on doing a monthly financial report showing what I am making and how I am making it. In turn this should allow me to keep a better track of my own goings on.

Yes, We Got Hacked…

Posted August 30th, 2011 in Round-ups by Simon Duck

Last week saw me having to try and get everything back online after someone hacked the website. Unfortunately I didn’t notice for a couple of days because I was busy, this means that for three days my readers were being directed to a Russian website, which probably wasn’t good, although I didn’t check it out.

I would like to personally apologies for any inconvenience this may have causes, or any other problems which may have arisen.

I am assuming this was done by a bored child somewhere, as this websites has nothing about it which would mean it is a hackers dream, we don’t have sign-ups so you can’t steal emails, we don’t deal with any money, so you can’t steal that, and we don’t really get loads of traffic, so you can’t really steal that. All in all, whoever did it wasted their time and in turn wasted mine.

Luckily I always backup the database, so no comments, posts or anything where lost in that department. I am having some troubles with the images for the posts, because like an idiot I didn’t backup those parts of the websites. I will be however slowly going through and reading all the pictures, there are a few tutorials I need to put back up as well. If you see anything wrong with the websites, please feel free to contact me and help me out, it would be much appreciated!

Anyway, a quick post to let you all know what was happening. A new post will be up tomorrow!

My Making Money To-do List

Posted July 27th, 2011 in Round-ups by Simon Duck

I was going to stick this in a place where only I would be able to see it, so that if I didn’t complete a task then I could just pretend it was never there. But where is the fun in that! By putting up on here you lot can rip into me when I forget to do one of the points.

What’s This List For?

Currently I have this website, a personal website and then four niche websites. All of them only have Google Adsense on! This means that I’m not making much money at all, all I have done when making these websites is loved making them and promoting them slightly. I have never really bothered to put more than adsense on the websites and therefore I am losing out on earnings which could be streaming in… well lets not get too far ahead of ourselves.

Therefore I need a plan of action of how to make a bit more money online. In the last couple of days I have began reading all of the blogs I used to read again, as I have the time, and on many of them they have income reports, looking at these make my weep a bit, all these people who are making money from doing exactly the same thing. I should refrain though; I am making money from my online ventures, just nowhere near as much as them.

How Will the List Be Used?

I will be using the list as a check-off list, taking each task step be step and then ticking them off when I have completed the task. Not to hard to understand is it? I will however not be doing it in order, although I will be trying to write it in an order which makes sense so that I don’t bugger things up!

Anyway, only one bit left, the list!

The List

Initially I need to make the website more clean and professional, some of them were just thrown together to help people who I knew out. A couple have also been left to run themselves for about two years, and when I mean run themselves, I mean they have sat there stagnant. I won’t be too specific because I don’t want to mention the actually websites until they are done to a standard I’m happy with.

  1. Reorganise the websites
  2. Clean up the designs
  3. Take down articles which are not worthy
  4. Write about 10 new articles for each website, to help search engines know they are still there
  5. Go through and check all SEO for mistakes
  6. Promote them all in some way – Commenting, Adverts, Reviews etc.
  7. Research new advertising methods (I will present them all on here)
  8. Add new advertising methods to make some money!
  9. Re-check everything and live happy. Haha.

Completing the List

This will probably take me some time, although I am going to try and do it all in August, so should be a busy month. As I have presented the list on Profit Duck, I might as well let you all know how I am getting on. I started a niche story awhile back, but I never finished it. So I will use this as the finishing point for that one, and then start a new one, as currently I am making a new website.

Best wishes,

Free Business Plan for Starting a Business

Posted March 29th, 2011 in Round-ups by Simon Duck

Over the time that Profit Duck has been open, I have built up quite a big deposit of articles, many of which are related to starting up a business and marketing a business, two things which come into play when you are writing up a business plan. As I have so much content on these topics, I have decided to try and make a little Business Plan Page, which will implement these posts into a list, of sorts, to try and help you find information quicker. As well as this in a few weeks I will be releasing a free ebook which will contain these article. This will be done as it will then be easier to print the content and then read and refer to it when you aren’t at your computer.

So to start of a Business Plan needs to introduce the key aspects of the business, set out its objectives and in turn show where the business will be heading. Below are articles related to this;

After you have a business going, you need to try and create a brand around the business, or a brand around a product you are selling.

Once this has been done, it is time to try and set our how to market your business. How will you bring those customers in.

If you have any articles from around the web which you think are useful and would like me to add, please just email me.
