Motivation Through Time Management

After working hard all of Christmas, completing four exams on a variety of computing and management topics and then having a very lazy week off, it’s finally time to enter back into normal life, its time to start using my time effectively.

Time Management Starts Again

With a new semester starting, I need to start organising my time a lot better. Currently my strategy is to write lots of articles in a short space of time, and then not have to worry about the website for a couple of weeks. In that time I would attempt to market Profit Duck through commenting on other websites, using social-media and you know the normal internet marketing techniques.

The Problem?

It just doesn’t happen. There’s no more to say… it just doesn’t get done how I plan. As I don’t see it as a full time activity, I don’t treat it as a full time activity. I spend that one weekend every other week building the website up, then spend two weeks watching it decline. This is why time management is going to be useful, giving myself some targets will hopefully motivate me to carry out activates on the website every day and in turn that should increase my traffic, readership and in the long run make me some money.

The Plan?

Today is my plan. Today is the start of when Profit Duck becomes a daily activity, its also the start of when I want you to start thinking more closely about time, and how effectively you use that time.

Making a plan can be a great way to, not only analyse your current time management downfalls, but to also set out what you will do with your time to improve and disregard these problems. Below I have set out a daily time plan, why don’t you try and do the same thing?

Don’t Stick to Rigorously

Something which I must point out is that you shouldn’t stick to firmly to your plan, as that will just lead to stress. Have it as a simple plan which you can look at, aim to complete but if something else comes up, don’t worry, after all some of the tasks won’t be the most important things in the world. Also you can’t plan out time exactly, events out of your control happen and this has to be added into your plan. By having something you can look at will help to motivate you and in turn get everything completed, hey this morning I sat down at 8 o’clock and wrote this post, so just have that little something which will get you working!

How do you plan your time?
