Write Content Which Has a Future, So You Don’t Bore Yourself

When I started out trying to make money online, I went down the road of trying to write about subjects which I didn’t really know anything about and I was just trying it because I thought it was a good idea at the time. However, I soon become bored, as I didn’t have a clue what I was doing and because of this I was constantly looking around the internet, reading books and trying anything to learn about the subject matter of the website. The problem with this? I didn’t even like the subject I was writing about, so I couldn’t be bothered to research it much, causing my posts to get worse over time, not better like they should do.

What Was The Problem Then?

There is no point, absolutely no point, in writing about something if you are not interested in it, because it has no future. Eventually you will get bored with updating the website and this will just lead to wasted time, which you could have spent researching something you like to write about.

What Happens If I’ve Become Bored of a Subject

I also used to have a blog about Gaming. When I made this blog, I loved playing on games and reading about them, so it seemed like the sensible thing to do. However, after about six months I become tired of updating the blog everyday, as I had become bored of playing games and writing about them. This meant that there was no future left in the website, so I really didn’t know what to do. Eventually I gave up the website, because there was no point in keeping it alive.

How Can You Know Your Subject Has a Future with You?

It creates a dilemma though… How do you know that you will still want to carry on your blog in a couple of year’s time? You can’t know, it’s impossible really, you just have to have a good idea of whether you will want to keep doing it or not. I’m confident that I will have this blog going in five years time, because I’m very interested in this subject and I’m determined to make money through entrepreneurship, whether that is online or me starting a business in the future. I want to achieve my goals through my own doing. This tells me that I will still be doing this in five years, because I know I will always have stories to tell people and I will always be looking to help other out on the same journey as mine.

What Am I Going On About?

What I really want to get across in this post is that when choosing what to base your website on, you need to think very carefully. Take into account whether you think you will want to write about that same subject in a couple of year’s time. If you don’t think you will, you need to think carefully about whether making a blog for a couple of years is worth it, especially if it will just end up in the internet graveyard. Or maybe you should think about whether your blog has the scope for slight changes in direction throughout the years, allowing you to change the subject slightly so that you will always want to keep it up-to-date. For example, for Profit Duck, I know that I can go more down the making money online path, or take my website down the making money through businesses path. I’ve made sure that I have enough scope to achieve whatever I want on this website.

When Can You Write About Something You Don’t Care About?

It isn’t always the case however; that you have to write websites that you are interested in. Going back to niche websites, it doesn’t really matter what you write about if you are just making a website to sit there and make some money for you. Just make sure you have the motivation to write the required amount of articles to start it off.

Planning a website is hard work, but the more you put in, the more you should get out. So make sure that you think that there is a future in your website/blog.
